Name: Jason Todd
Canon: DC (Post-Crisis, i.e. the '80s era)
Canon Point: Just after his death
Character Goals: I think it'd be cool to play Jason from a point in time when he's younger, more naive, less skilled, and less modern (what is this "Internet" you speak of?). Jason Todd as Red Hood is very strong and capable, but Jason Todd as Robin is still figuring himself out, and it'd be interesting to have him do that away from Batman (or, if a Batman applies, away from Gotham and everything he knows). Plus, playing him immediately post-death gives me a lot of raw emotions to work with.
I also might canon update him later on just to see how the world-hopping and trauma affects his development. But that's not certain; mostly, I want to see what a corrupted Jason Todd would look like without the Lazarus Pit involved.

Dear Mom,
Ma,
To my real m
Hey, Mom.
I dunno why I'm writing this. I guess cuz we never got a chance to really talk much before... you know. Like, about my life since you left Dad, and all. I figure maybe you'd wanna know? Not like it matters anyw
Anyway, it wasn't all super great. You didn't wanna bother with the custody battle stuff, which I get. Still, I kinda wish you had. Maybe it would've been better that way. I coulda come to live with you in England. Or maybe go back and forth? Nah, that's dumb. I know money was tight. On your side and ours.
We didn't really have a lot when I was growing up. Crime Alley's, well, I'm sure you know. No heat, no TV, basically trying to do anything but go to the library and read was bunk. And there was fighting at home. But I guess I kinda miss the fighting, cuz that meantMom my first mom Catherine was awake. Near the end, she basically... She kinda slept. A lot. And Dad was away. He tried to make a living for us, but he could never land a "respectable" job. Got locked up so much I never knew when he was coming back.
Then Two-Face, that scumbag, low-life murderer
He worked for the wrong guy. Why'd he have to do it? Why couldn't he have just stayed with us?
He died when I was 12. Catherine, too. So I was on my own for a while there.I wish you had been I wish I even KNEW you were You could've told me, or Dad, so I wouldn't have to find out like some IDIOT It was rough, but I got by. My old man taught me to boost tires, so that's what I did for a while. Not a lot. I'm no crook. Just enough to get what I needed, y'know?
You'll never believe it, what happened next, though. Right there, in Crime Alley, it's THE BATMOBILE! Just parked like it belongs there! I figure, get those tires, I'll be able to eat for months, maybe even buy a little heater or some new clothes or something. Like, what would YOU have done? Duh! I'd've been stupid not to take 'em!
The thing is, Batman catches me. And I figure, crud, he's gonna turn me in. I don't wanna go in some scummy foster program and bounce around like a dog no one wants. I don't need anyone to take care of me. I did just fine by myself.
Except... I think I DID. Need someone, I mean. 'CauseBatman Bruce Batm oh what does it matter you're already DEAD you're never gonna READ THIS Bruce Wayne took me in, and I felt like... Mabye not like I belonged, but it was pretty close. It was nice not having to worry about stuff for once. To have adults who, like, make you breakfast and make your bed and tell you when you do a good job at stuff. I wish you could've been there to
I guess you think this is me guilting you, huh? For not being there? Nah. I mean, I was a little upset when I found out you were myreal birth mom, but I understand. Things were hard for you. I wish I could've been there I wish you didn't need to trust him why did you let him do that to me mom you're not supposed to hurt your kids you just STOOD THERE you WATCHED THEM DO IT what did I do wrong, I'm sorry, I'm a crappy kid, no wonder you didn't want me
I wish we could've had some more time. I'm sorryyou died I couldn't save you I'm so so SO SO SORRY. I miss you.
Love,
From,

Summarize yourself in 20 words or less.
I'm from Crime Alley, so don't underestimate me! I'm tougher than I look — smarter, too.
What's your home life like?
Home with Mr. Wayne...? It's not that interesting, to be honest. I go to school, come home, and his butler, Alfred, makes dinner, which is weird and cool all at the same time. Then I do my homework and go to bed.
[After dressing up in a bright costume and shortpants to go fight crime, that is.]
Or did you mean before I was adopted? That's, uh... [Does it count as a home life when you don't have a home? He doesn't like to think about the time before he was homeless, with his father gone all the time and his mother so high she was practically comatose.] ...Yeah, I mean, it was fine, too. Not the best, but whose life is, right? I managed.
Tell me about your favorite people.
I guess that's gotta be... Batman! I used to figure he was a big stick in the mud, but he's actually pretty cool. The way he risks it all to save people every night, even though half the losers in this crummy town either hate him or don't want anything to do with him... I know how he feels. Sometimes you try your best and it still ain't enough. But I learned from him that you gotta keep trying anyway.
Mr. Wayne — Bruce, I mean — is a good guy, too. You'd think he'd be all stuck-up because he's so rich, but he's not, really. He doesn't see me as just some brat from Crime Alley. He gave me a shot, y'know? Sure, we disagree sometimes, but he never gives up on me. More than I can say about most people.
And I can't forget about Alfred! I never thought I'd have a butler before. But he's so much more than that. More like a grandpa than a servant. Least, that's what I think a grandpa would be like. He cooks good food and cleans my room and always checks up on Bruce and me. I hope I'm still that cool when I'm old.
Was there ever a "turning point" in your life?
Oh... Yeah, I figure there was.
[Who knew that one little decision to boost some tires would land him here? Robin, the Boy Wonder... Someone with a purpose. A home. A chance to do something good for once.]
Do I gotta say it? When Bruce took me in, duh! I went from rootin' around in trash bags to chowing down on caviar in a mansion every night! Ok, not every night. And caviar's actually not as good as it's chalked up to be. But you get what I mean!
Do you perform well under pressure?
Man, my entire life is pressure!
[You have to perform well under it when you're defending your meagre food stash in Crime Alley. Even more so when you're fighting costumed crooks with guns and knives and trick umbrellas.]
No sweat. I can handle anything you throw my way.
If you went to a deserted island, what two things would you take with you?
A knife, for cutting rope and getting food and stuff. I know how to make fires and all already. [Batman's survivalist training is very thorough.] ...And a book. I'd be way bored without one.
How do you normally spend a Friday night?
Oh, you know, just...
[Staying up even later than usual to fight crime, preserve peace, and basically make the world a better place, all while wearing a cape and pixie boots?]
...normal teenager stuff. I hang out. It's whatever.
If a genie granted you a single wish, what would you wish for?
...My parents. I'd wish my folks were still alive. [That means his dad and both his moms, biological or otherwise.]
Do the ends justify the means?
[Batman says no, but...]
Yeah. Yeah, I think so. [Maybe it's not so bad if a crook dies. Maybe even if he gets offed. Isn't the world a better place either way?]
How did you feel about this survey?
It was kinda lame.
